NASSCOM Partnership Program With Israel 2017


NASSCOM is organizing a program to promote business between NASSCOM members and Israeli companies, a program that will include a delegation to Tel Aviv, Israel from 12th - 15th November 2017. 

The key objective of this program is to generate an understanding about existing innovative eco-system in Israel and work towards identifying specific opportunities for business and growth. The program will include focused B2B matchmaking program. These curated meetings will ensure success for participating companies. 

Israeli technology Industry is a major contributor to National GDP, contributing 26% of the GDP, having second largest NASDAQ listed companies after USA. Its major focus is on Innovation and IP creation. This is aided by significant Government spending to encourage innovation and creativeness. The highlight of Israel is innovation and development of cutting edge technology.

The purpose of the NASSCOM delegation visit to Israel will be the following:-

  • To explore and learn about new and latest technologies
  • To explore Business and Investment opportunities
  • Strengthen business relations by identifying new projects, investment opportunities and local business partnerships
  • Technology transfer /find partners in Israel

NASSCOM Delegation Description

The delegation will comprise of 12 - 15 Indian ICT Companies that are members of NASSCOM.

  • SME/ start ups - companies which are looking to learn and also partner with Israeli companies for technology transfer and partnerships
  • Product companies - for partnerships
  • Large companies - looking for new technology/ and innovations

The companies will have a focus on

  • Cyber Security Solutions
  • Mobile Services & Vertical Solutions
  • Digital Technologies
  • Telecom/mobile/VAS and new age technologies along with
  • e-commerce
  • Fintech
  • Health tech


First Phase- 4 weeks prior to the visit
1. Gauging the interests of the Indian companies
bullet Provision of companies' profile and areas of interest
bullet Conduct calls with companies to fully understand their needs, expectations, and their current activities and products.
2. Screening Israeli companies
bullet Based on the Indian companies' interest, prepare for each company a list of up to 20 relevant Israeli companies that include profile and other relevant information.
bullet Discuss with Indian companies the relevance of the Israeli companies, and arrange more info if needed.
3. Preparation of final program and B2B meetings and choose Indian companies for B2B meetings
Second Phase
bullet Visit to Israel, that will include the attached program and include the following elements: Business environment in Israel - what should you look for, what can you leverage etc.
bullet B2B meetings with local Israeli companies
bullet Site visits to Israeli companies and incubators
bullet Innovation Authority (formerly, Office of the Chief Scientist & MATIMOP)
bullet The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute
bullet The Israel-India Chamber of Commerce
bullet Visit Be'er Sheva new CyberSpark - the Israeli Cyber Innovation Arena
Third Phase- 4- 6 weeks after the visit

Ms. Bernstein-Reich is Israel's managing partner and co-founder of A&G partners. 
A business development specialist to emerging markets that works in India since 1997. Chairperson of Israel-India Chamber of Commerce and the President of TIE Israel. 

"What's next in technology" presentation by Dr. Jimmy Schwarzkopf, CEO STKI. Dr. Schwarzkopf is a technology guru, with an experience of over 35 years. He Founded two successful companies in the IT space, presently manage a leading market research and strategy firm.
"The true story of Israel"- presentation by Mrs. Einat Wilf, former Member of Knesset.

02:30 pm to 03:00 pm "Legal Frame Work" presentation by ADV. Benjamin Grossman, Partner & Head of Indian Legal Practice, Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. 

APM & Co., based in Tel Aviv, is a top-tier Israeli law firm with Indian practice.
03:00 pm to 06:00 pm B2B session with Israeli companies- 5 meetings per company.

Innovation Authority (formerly, Office of the Chief Scientist & MATIMOP) 
The Israel Innovation Authority is responsible for the country's innovation policy. It is an independent and impartial public entity that operates for the benefit of the Israeli innovation ecosystem. Its role is to nurture and develop Israeli innovation resources, while creating and strengthening the infrastructure and framework needed to support the entire knowledge industry. In addition, the Innovation Authority operates the India–Israel Initiative for Industrial R&D (I4RD). 

Technological Incubator/ Accelerator- TBD 
Weizmann Institute of Science 
The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the world's leading multidisciplinary basic research institutions in the natural and exact sciences. Weizmann was the first president of the state of Israel, and his graveyard is placed in the institute.

10:00 am to 01:00 pm Visit Be'er Sheva new CyberSpark – the Israeli Cyber Innovation Arena
CyberSpark was initiated by the Israel National Cyber Bureau to realize the potential of the unique developing ecosystem in Beer-Sheva that includes Ben-Gurion University, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and an increasing number of multinational companies that have found a home at the Advanced Technologies Park. 

Option 1- Visit WeWork Be'er Sheva
WeWork is a co-working space company that offers entrepreneurs shared offices and an access to major research centers, government agencies, mentors, investors etc. 

Option 2- Meet with the Mayor of Beer Sheva. 
Option 3- Visit a kibbutz, the cooperative settlement structure which is unique for Israel.

Please note that you would have to apply for visa for Israel. It might take 7 days for the processing of the visa, hence it is advisable to apply for visa in the month of September/October itself. Visa would have to be obtained by companies themselves. NASSCOM would provide the following:-
